Through Rahab's faithful understanding of how God will deliver her, she finds that the future does not have to be dictated by her past.  

Joseph had a life full of trials and blessing. He experienced both extremes of very hard times and very good times. But he remained faithful to God and God remained faithful to him.

Abraham obeyed God.

Our relationship with God is sustained by mutual commitment, but we sometimes forget that God is more invested in the commitment than we are.
